Billy Prince - You're My Angel (For Aretha)

Billy Prince hails from Detroit and was one of the founding members and lead vocalist of the legendary soul group The Precisions.

The story of the Precisions starts back in a Detroit high school when young friends decided to form a vocal group - recording for the local D-Town and Drew labels before recording two singles on Atco. The backing tracks were actually cut by the same musicians (Funk Brothers) as the iconic Motown songs of the era, incredibly lush with huge orchestration, tales of love and heartbreak that could only have originated from the Motor City - all painted with Billy Prince's angelic voice.

The anthemic "If this is love (I'd rather be lonely)", is still a staple in the Northern Soul scene. Billy currently plays around Southern California and his new hometown of San Diego, being backed up by Colemine recording artists the Surefire Soul Ensemble.
