“I’ll Be Waiting” is the fourth single release by Toby Ernest who made his debut in the fall of 2019 with the songs “Rescue Me” and “Gonna Be Fine.” Both were remixed by fellow Danish artists, Laid Back, Kasper Bjørke, and Turbotito. These singles have earned him a spot on the top 20 most played artists featured on the world famous LA radio station KCRW, including Morning Becomes Eclectic, their most prominent show.

Toby’s new single offers both hope and contemplation. When confronted by the loss of a friend, Toby describes the pain of saying goodbye, while creating a meditative space connected beyond the material world.

Like the previous singles, the song is produced by Jacob Funch (Toby’s band mate from The Late Great Fitzcarraldos) and mixed and mastered by Turbotito (Filip Nikolic formerly of Poolside.) It also features a third member of The Late Great Fitzcarraldos, Jakob Millung, on saxophone.
A toying bassline drenched in hazy strings with an R&B bounce and delicate sax undertones, give the song a certain sensual feeling reminiscent of Sade. “I’ll Be Waiting" elevates you into an illusive state, taking you into a different dimension, “trying to find the light behind a world of grey.”
Cover design by Miles Wintner who has also made album covers for Dent May, The 13th Floor Elevators, and Sam Wilkes.
