“2020 has been such an emotionally, politically and racially jarring experience, I needed to create music that not only captured the sentiment of the times but also music that super charged me and listeners with the energy to push forward against the daily adversity we’ve all been facing.” says Govales. After releasing his rebellious & rage filled anthem “Broken System Killer” amidst the backdrop of racial protests, global duress and a country teetering on collapse, Govales is releasing his new EP, CHEMICAL X, fit with a reinvented sound and image that is a stark departure from his 2016 R&B fueled debut mixtape, G SPOT.

“I saw the brewing firestorm coming ahead of time while I was living in New York City at the start of 2020 and decided to retreat to South Florida to insulate myself in my creative zone, soaking up all the current events, condensing and expressing the varying range of emotions I felt and was seeing in the world the only way I know how, through the music.” explains Govales, “I had already expressed unbriddled rage through ‘Broken System Killer’ but I wanted to create a group of songs that captured the messages and feelings of today while still being able to make you dance and feel inspired.”

The highly anticipated EP, CHEMICAL X, displays some of Govales’ most genre bending and cutting edge production and songwriting yet. Taking influences from house, rap, techno and r&b, fusing it into something new, energetic and raw. Govales says, “The title of the EP is inspired by one of my favorite childhood cartoons ‘The RowdyRuff Boys’ who were endowed with super powers via the mysterious Chemical-X, I felt like a mad scientist in the studio mixing all these different ingredients creating my own Chemical X, jamming to the songs definitely makes me feel like I have super powers."
