Detention
label: Variance
For our 28th release we are delighted to bring you the up and coming Detention, the Dutch producer has featured heavily on Variant Electronic over the years, had his first track on Variance on the VAR3000 compilation with "Ripping and Wreaking", with his trademark crazy industrial and often wonky sounds. This EP features four originals of varying intensity and style, all hard hitting, "Aldi Talk Hotline", "George Told Me So", "Ghetto Tweens" all keep to the same general theme but each one is instantly recognisable and unique to Detentions style, another incredibly different track is "Someone Started a Funky Little Dance Move" this follows no rules, nice experimental piece of music, that will break up your set and smash the dance-floor, as with all tracks on this EP. On remix duties we have the legendary "Drvg Cvltvre", and label head "Scenedrone". Drvg Cvltvre remixed "Aldi Talk Hotline" to great effect, an instant classic. Scenedrone took on the task of remixing "Ghetto Tweens" and he provided a thumping variation of the already hammering track. All round excellent EP, one to behold and just a taster of whats to come over the next 13 months.
