Discard From Paradise

Ercos Blanka
label: Ampispazi Recordings
This June, Berlin-based Ampispazi Recordings delivers its first album, coming from the label's own Ercos Blanka, a remarkable collection of 12 original tracks of experimental electronic music.
Italy's Ercos Blanka has previously released a series of EP's on Ampispazi in which he has clearly shown his different influences, coming from Jazz and Classical Music to more "modern" styles such as Electronica and House Music, all combined with his experience as a sound designer. His latest work, which is also his debut LP, is his most mature creation and implies a change in his sound, for an elaborate work that has taken him many years of hard work and long nights awake.
He describes the making of 'Discard From Paradise' as "constant listening and researching from music which was like climbing a mountain, and once on the top of that mountain, that's where all my experiences as a listener and a producer have come out naturally and brought me to build this free and dreamy collection of sounds more than music. An album which I consider very much mine, part of my world, and far from the business of making electronic music".
The album merges tracks in which only natural and organic noises create an elaborate atmosphere, in a very old school 'free jazz' way, together with solid deep club-oriented tunes and more brainy and home-listening cuts. The whole collection is permeated by a melancholic and moody vibe, which clearly shows the producer's intimate creation process, even if the diversity of the 12 cuts could recreate a wide range of feelings in every listener.
'Discard From Paradise' mixes synths and real instruments, samples and processed sounds and reveals Ampispazi Recordings' surprising capacity for releasing unique bodies of music, always coming from new and unknown talents. Ercos Blanka's album reminds us of Mano Le Tough's 'Changing Days' or some Border Community's releases, but its clearly a personal musical experience that only an album could easily portray.
