label: Aufect Recordings
Vancouver-based producer and DJ, rOhmz is another member of the city's lexicon of talented up-and-coming artists, that we're incredibly happy to be working with. When Anthony sent us this demo, we were blown away with the quality of his productions, and knew immediately that his sound had a natural home at Aufect.

This EP is one for classic Drum & Bass fans of all stripes and we feel is a perfect representation of what rOhmz brings to the table. 4 crystal-clear cuts that touch on some of the many different corners of D&B. Smooth vibes and warm basslines find their home here, nestled over-top of precise drums and emotive melodies. Ant also reaches into the cellar and also pulls out some vintage darkness to satisfy the steppers out there.

"On The Inside" starts things off with liquid vibes and a warm chord, which keeps building into a euphoric sunrise anthem with it's bed of pianos and Ant flexing his vocal chops. When those strings come in you'll swear you ate a funny blue pill about 30 minutes ago. "Anyone But" lulls you into thinking there couldn't possibly be a tough, minimal stepper hiding around the corner, but when that razor sharp beat and detuned bassline hit, you know what you're in for. "Only So Much" smooths the vibes out again and sees rOhmz lay down some more vocals on this nod to golden-era D&B with a modern twist. The piano, soothing pads and vocal fx meld together into a sonic stew and the analog saw bass melody seasons it to delicious effect. Finally, "Dope Ring" is a moody stepper, with tight drum programming and a satisfying LFO'd sub bass. It utilizes classic movie samples to give it a cops & robbers theme and rounds out the EP.
