TOKiMONSTA (Jennifer Lee) is a Los Angeles native known for her unique take on indie electronic/r&b/dance music. She has been featured on various platforms such as: BBC Radio1 (UK), NPR (USA), BBC World Service (UK), J Wave (JP), Studio Brussels (BE), Radio Nova (FR), DJ Mag, Pitchfork, The Guardian, XLR8R, Paper, LA Times, Dazed and Confused, SPIN, Wax Poetics, MTV, VIBE, Billboard, and more.

Young Art Records is the imprint launched by recording artist TOKiMONSTA in 2014 with the release of her album Desiderium. The Los Angeles-based producer previously released music on venerable labels including Ultra and Brainfeeder--headed by Flying Lotus. Like Lotus with Brainfeeder, TOKiMONSTA wanted a home to help nurture the creative output of her friends, in addition to releasing her own work.

Lune Rouge is her exhilarating next step when it comes to releasing her own work. The third proper long-player from TOKiMONSTA is both a logical progression of her sound and a surprising left turn from an artist that rarely ceases to surprise. A smoky, patient, and altogether lovely collection, Lune Rouge mixes modern sensibilities with old-school sounds to make for a heady brew of moonlit music.

Blackbird Blackbird

Blackbird Blackbird is the moniker of Los Angeles-based electronic musician Mikey Maramag.

His textural synth pop and warm, dreamy vocals recall acts like Odesza and Washed Out, though Maramag’s roots are actually in Metal and Hardcore.

Originally hailing from Hawaii, he relocated to Northern California and began his career as a drummer for Bay Area hardcore band Murder Practice. He left the band in 2009 to attend the University of Santa Cruz, where he became enamored with artists like Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada.

While away at school he began recording under the alias Bye Bye Blackbird, eventually tweaking the name to Blackbird Blackbird after encountering another band with the same name. He released various singles before issuing his debut album, Summer Heart in mid-2010. The album became what some critics & fans consider a dream-pop & chillwave classic.
